Hello everyone, today I decided to create some fantasy art. I'm trying to get more imaginative and so I decided to look at several reference photos I liked to get an idea of what I would be creating. I knew it would be a female fantasy art as I like drawing female portraits but I wondered about what motifs it would have. I finally settled on water and some gold fish and just kept experimenting with light and shadows. I'm far from where I want to do but I think taking little steps each day will help.
Also, today I discovered a new way to manipulate my pastel drop tool in order to get that grass.
Here are the steps to my art
I always start with an outline. I then proceeded to fill the base colors
And then I began to experiment with different blend modes. I worked predominantly with the glow, soft glow and multiply belnd modes and I kept painting in different areas just to determine where my light and shadows will be. It's not an easy process but I think I like what I have been able to do for today.
