Life has changed in a big way since the first of July 2023!
Would I have believed that I'd be busy packing up my home just two years later?
No! Five years perhaps, but not a mere two years later.
I for sure had no inkling that I'd lose my darling man just two weeks later, and what a dramatic effect it would have on my life, and everyone around 'us'.
Looking back at my Google photos to see what was happening at that time, I saw that a postcard from a special Hive friend arrived all the way from Taiwan. LUT could not have guessed that her postcard experiment would become a little miracle, a light during a very dark period in my life. Our post office service had collapsed and I'd given up on my post ever arriving. It did, and it was the very last postal item I received!
Onto the business of the day.
What is Hive Power Up Day and why do we power up?
- The first reason is to have fun and get a badge!
- Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
- Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
- Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
- Finally, several amazing members are offering prizes that include delegations, Hive giveaways, and other cool stuff to the Hive PUD participants.
My Power Up
My B&B bookings have been great for winter months, so I was able to power up 450 Hive Power today, taking me to just over 29K HP. Managed my goal of at least 1K growth per month. Of course, I would like to have blogged more often, but things have been crazy with home invasions by strangers ogling my home. Thankfully, only a handful came, and it was sold within three months; apparently, this was a quick sale in the current market!
I am thankful that the sale can now be finalized, followed by the transfer of ownership. I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye, though! Perhaps I will find my little dream home with a pretty garden and a view, before that happens, or I will end up living a gypsey lifestyle for a while! Not going to settle for anything less, and those are orders from my family!
