I have a dream that the world could one day be a better place for all, a kind of heaven-on-earth place.
While I merely dream and help those I come into contact with as and where I can, there are others who take the bull by the horns and initiate large projects in an attempt to do just that, my dear friend 
Changing the lives of people less fortunate does not happen overnight, and takes a ton of commitment, hard work, as well as hard cash.
Last week I took you to Pilgrim's Rest Tea Garden, a place with a view to die for.
Heartstrings Community Project is run from the same tranquil setting at Crest Community Centre and encompasses the tea garden, a large stone house, a marquee, small pre-fab buildings, and seating in the open, with large trees forming a canopy.
Driving in we were greeted by an avenue of trees, and immediately felt the peace of this special place.
180° Views of the Inanda Dam took our breath away, simply stunning! How can anyone not be exhilarated coming here?
To generate income for their various projects, they have all kinds of knick-knacks on sale, as shared in my previous post.
The couple who started the project knew that besides running their church, this would also be the perfect setting for a wedding venue and memorials.
A well-equipped outdoor mud cake 'kitchen' is the best kiddies' play area I've seen in a long time; when last did you make mud cakes, and do children still play-act like this?
The community living in this green valley is blessed to have people with a passion to uplift and empower communities, connecting hearts in the process.
Basic needs like food, clothing, and blankets, much of it donated, are distributed to the people in this area.
They've set up a safe home for those needing temporary accommodation, while the owners go as far as fostering children.
Education is a priority, and they do this by improving facilities at nursery schools in the surrounding area.
Importantly, they also help with creating jobs and training initiatives to help the people become self-sufficient.
This naturally helps them regain dignity and self-respect, a basic human right that is denied by a corrupt government!
These ostriches oversee all the happenings and must feel very happy with what goes on here, they certainly don't keep their heads in the sand, just like the people who work for this community!
If you ever come to Kwazulu Natal, do yourself a favour, and take a drive to the Valley of a Thousand Hills, and make this one of your stops, you will be wowed by friendly faces and kindness, as well as breathtaking views!
