A veces, una dinámica que parece sencilla termina moviéndote fibras que no esperabas. Vi la propuesta de @emiliorios para conocernos a través de los colores y mi intención inicial era simplemente dejar un comentario, como todos. Sin embargo, al quedarme mirando las opciones y elegir esta imagen de los campos de lavanda bajo el cielo estrellado, me invadió una sensación de paz tan profunda y tantas ganas de volcar mis pensamientos, que sentí que un simple comentario se me quedaba corto. No era suficiente para expresar lo que ese paisaje me despertó. No soy experta en teorías ni en cromatismos, pero creo que no hace falta serlo cuando el alma reconoce un refugio. Esa inmensidad púrpura me hizo un clic inmediato. Para mí, más que un color, es un estado mental que he ido cultivando con los años: la serenidad de saber quién soy y, sobre todo, dónde quiero estar. A mis 50 años, el violeta y el púrpura han dejado de ser simples tonos decorativos para convertirse en una especie de hogar visual. Me evocan ese silencio necesario que una busca después de haber lidiado con tanto ruido externo durante décadas.

Sometimes, a dynamic that seems simple ends up touching fibers you didn't expect. I saw @emiliorios' proposal to get to know each other through colors, and my initial intention was just to leave a comment, like everyone else. However, as I stared at the options and chose this image of lavender fields under a starry sky, I was overcome by such a deep sense of peace and such a desire to pour out my thoughts that I felt a simple comment was not enough. It wasn't sufficient to express what that landscape awakened in me. I am no expert in theories or chromatics, but I believe there’s no need to be when the soul recognizes a sanctuary. That purple vastness clicked with me immediately. To me, more than a color, it is a state of mind that I have been cultivating over the years: the serenity of knowing who I am and, above all, where I want to be. At 50, violet and purple have ceased to be mere decorative tones and have become a kind of visual home. They evoke that necessary silence one seeks after dealing with so much external noise for decades.

Es el color de la introspección, ese proceso que tanto disfruto cuando me siento a escribir y las palabras empiezan a darle forma a mis emociones. En esta etapa de mi vida, he aprendido que el bienestar no es algo que se encuentra afuera, sino algo que se construye eligiendo conscientemente qué dejamos entrar en nuestro espacio. Este paisaje me transmite una libertad que se siente en el pecho porque no pide permiso ni espera aprobación de nadie; simplemente es, en toda su extensión. Cuando observo la transición de la lavanda hacia el firmamento, no puedo evitar pensar en mi propia evolución. Hubo un tiempo en que mi paleta de colores estaba llena de urgencias, de rojos por el estrés o de grises por el cansancio de intentar cumplir con las expectativas ajenas. Pero ahora, me permito habitar estos tonos más profundos y calmados.

At this stage of my life, I have learned that well-being is not something found outside, but something built by consciously choosing what we allow into our space. When I observe the transition from the lavender toward the firmament, I cannot help but think about my own evolution. There was a time when my color palette was full of urgencies, of reds from stress or grays from the exhaustion of trying to meet others' expectations. But now, I allow myself to inhabit these deeper, calmer tones.

El violeta me sugiere esa transformación constante de una mujer que ha aprendido a poner límites para proteger su paz y que prefiere la profundidad de un pensamiento propio a la superficie de lo cotidiano. Escribir para mí siempre ha sido un acto de sanación, y ver esta inmensidad me recuerda por qué lo hago. Es el espacio donde puedo ser vulnerable y fuerte al mismo tiempo, donde puedo florecer a mi ritmo, tal como esas flores que se extienden hasta el horizonte. A veces, basta con una imagen para recordarnos que tenemos derecho a nuestros momentos de soledad elegida, a nuestros silencios y a nuestra propia expansión. Ya no tengo prisa por llegar a ninguna parte; me basta con estar presente en paisajes como este.

It is the beauty of maturity: the ability to appreciate the nuances, to understand that even in the darkness of night, there is a clarity that allows you to see the path if you stop long enough to observe. Violet suggests to me that constant transformation of a woman who has learned to set boundaries to protect her peace, and who prefers the depth of her own thoughts over the surface of the everyday. Writing has always been an act of healing for me, and seeing this vastness reminds me why I do it. It is the space where I can be vulnerable and strong at the same time, where I can flourish at my own pace, just like those flowers extending toward the horizon. Sometimes, an image is enough to remind us that we have the right to our chosen moments of solitude, to our silences, and to our own expansion. I am no longer in a hurry to get anywhere; it is enough for me to be present in landscapes like this one.

Al final, participar en esta dinámica terminó siendo un regalo personal. Al elegir este paisaje, estoy reafirmando mi presente: uno donde la paz no es negociable y donde la belleza se encuentra en los detalles que otros pasan por alto. Me quedo con esta sensación de calma, con la certeza de que la vida, a cualquier edad, sigue teniendo colores maravillosos por descubrir, siempre y cuando estemos dispuestas a mirar con la pausa que el alma merece. Es un recordatorio de que nuestra capacidad de sentir y de crear belleza es infinita, y que a veces, un pequeño cuadro de color es la excusa perfecta para reencontrarnos con nosotras mismas.

By choosing this landscape, I am reaffirming my present: one where peace is non-negotiable and where beauty is found in the details that others overlook. I am left with this sense of calm, with the certainty that life, at any age, continues to have wonderful colors to discover, as long as we are willing to look with the pause that the soul deserves. It is a reminder that our capacity to feel and to create beauty is infinite, and that sometimes, a small square of color is the perfect excuse to find ourselves again.
