Invisibility?
That's one superpower I'd love to have.
Imagine being able to walk into some government institutions unseen, and upturn secret files, expose corrupt practices and conspiracies that are crippling the efficiency and effectiveness of public service.
I'd use that power to make my country a better place to live. Life shouldn't be this hard for people, especially law abiding citizens.
I'd enter the camps of terrorists, get as much information as possible and leak them to the public through reliable mass media and journalists.
I'd enter government parastatals, ministeries and agencies. Hack into systems, accounts and data bases, release files of shady deals and underhanded dealings. Every corrupt practices, secret memos, and documents.
It's not going to be a walk in the park task. I wish that power could include multiplying myself into thousands of me at the same time, so the work could be easier coordinated and executed.
I'd conceived this thought for a very long time and just wish a day could come when it will happen.
But then, just one day of invisibility might not be enough to bring revolution that would change the course of my country for better.
Also, the outcome might be more dangerous because we'd have to deal with something no one knew how it was started, nor who to hold responsible. It would be total chaos, I guess.
I can imagine a press conference where the President doesn't even know how to describe or explain the situation. The Service heads running helter scelter looking for solutions. Government agencies thrown into confusion.
Some indicted persons would go into hiding. Some would be arrested. Even the key leaders would be implicated.
The military too will be thrown into dissaray. It could lead to a crackdown, which may lead to a coup, and then to a civil war. Factions would rise to take control of government.
Financial institutions will also be hit. Many people have lost large sum of their funds to the banks which have not been accounted for. Many bank operetors would go into exile.
There might be massive nation wide protest that unsettles the economy.
This is not the intended outcome, but the possible one. Because one day of national system hack can lead to decades of civil unrest for the country.
But honestly, I do pray for things to take a good new turn in my country. And beyond prayers, I always wish I had powers. If invisibility becomes a sudden development, even if for a day, I would start an invisible revolution.
Of course, this is my mind just running wild. 😄
