Being a middle man brokering any sort of deal between two sides is always a tricky job. I can only imagine brokering a marriage between two people and families who have never met before is a mammoth task. And certainly, for us, where arranged marriage is not common, it's something that we find very difficult to comprehend.
Perhaps the boy's family have quite a few options in hand and are hedging their bets in case the others don't work out. Is that a common thing for people to do?
In my country arranged managed is still popular
Took me a while to work this out
