Normally when users join Hive, we encourage them to write a self introduction post so the Hive community gets to know them better. It's a great way for newbies to meet more people as there are many teams in Hive welcoming newbies and to provide any support they need. A self introduction post goes a long way in establishing yourself and building your network, so although it's not mandatory, I would highly recommend it.
