After the successful launch of Shelley Mainnet yesterday, there's 371 available stake pools available (when writing this post) and still counting.

As I mentioned in my previous blog Shelley Mainnet ERA is Upon us the next couple of months will be critical for the Cardano project as they attempts to dethrone Ethereum.
Staking and rewards on Mainnet
ADA holders will need to update their DAEDALUS wallet to the latest version so they can delegate their ADA to a stake-pool from July 29th - Epoch 0. Epoch on the mainnet will last 5 days.
For those who staked their ADA on the testnet, they can claim their staking rewards from 3rd of August, Epoch 1. The first staking rewards on Shelly's mainnet will be distributed at the start of the fourth Epoch, August 18th. And so on. More details on my previous blog - The Delegation Cycle
Whats Next for Cardano?
During the Cardano summit, which was held earlier this month, new details was announced of the Goguen Era. IOHK’s product manager, Vojvodic explained that Goguen will enable developers to develop decentralised applications (dApps), the ability to create smart contracts and also the ability to create new assets on the Cardano blockchain, using IOHK custom programming languages, Plutus and Marlowe.
During the Goguen Era, IOHK will be launching an ERC-20 converter. This converter will allow Ethereum ERC-20 tokens to be transferred from the Ethereum network to Cardano.

Goguen will also enable developers to build solutions for applications in the areas of supply chain, real estate management or decentralised finance.
A mainnet release of Goguen is planned for the end of the fourth quarter of 2020.

I am so exciting for the upcoming updates on Cardano, its been a long time coming. I am also excited to see the diffrent dApps that will be built on the Cardano network.
Would DeFi applications like MakerDAO or Uniswap use the ERC-20 converter and jump ship to Cardano. As Cardano found the solution for the scalability problem, which Ethereum is struggling with?
