Under the intense Medinah sun, the journey to the desert began, a trip I had been looking forward to: getting up close to camels in their natural habitat. There was something about these animals, the life they lead and their connection to the Arab lands, that had always exerted a special attraction. As the car left the city behind, the landscape slowly transformed. The streets disappeared, giving way to a sea of golden dunes that stretched as far as the eye could see. The air, warm and dry, carried with it an almost sacred stillness, enveloping everything in its path.
Upon arriving at the camp, the camels were the first thing that caught my attention, moving with a slow elegance, as if they were in perfect harmony with the calm of the desert. Seeing them up close was a moment I had imagined many times, but being there, surrounded by these majestic animals, exceeded any expectations. Their eyes, large and serene, seemed to carry with them centuries of stories, tales of ancient caravans and travelers who crossed these lands in search of new horizons.
Riding a camel was an unforgettable experience. The gentle swaying of the animal as it walked on the desert sand gave a unique sensation, as if for a moment you were part of that vast environment, as if time had stopped and only the desert and its slow pace existed.
The desert of Medinah, the camels and the sunset that bathed the horizon with its warm light, remained engraved in my memory as a reminder of the simplicity and depth of the moments that transform us the most.
