The rainstorms washed away sections of the seawall. Not before it gave up some of its treasures and left a mark on the view. For a brief spell, the clouds parted near the horizon, and the grandeur of nature opened up like an oyster revealing its precious pearl. Then that moment stood still like a vintage postcard. Nostalgia fodder for rainy days.

We love our bonfires. The crazier and more illegal the better. Given that our beloved Park Board hasn't taken it upon itself to initiate the beach clean up- perhaps they're making some kind of political point- then maybe we should have a bonfire party. I think this is a rather sensible idea. Gather up all the detritus, and set it on fire. O yea baby! Bring your bongo drums and your hoola-hoops. Soap bubbles. Don't forget your weed either. That ought to get the Park Board's attention, 'cause they sure move quick when a bunch of hippies gather to have fun on the beach.

I love the serendipity of timeless moments. I was just focused on the sky and was not paying attention to the people on the beach. Then after I transferred the photograph, I realized that as majestic as the sunset was, the key elements of composition were the people on the shore. A happy little accident, as Bob Ross would say.

The twilight was blue. A harmonious display of balance between ocean and sky. I nearly missed this one. I had my eyes set home after a long hike. It was just an impression then. Out of the corner of my eye. A swift movement- raise camera, set the setting, and snap. Quick and easy. Would it capture this moment? The blue hour. It reminded me of that haunting song by the extremely talented pixie called Joanna Newsom. I hummed the tune as I made my way back home.
