In the gray blue
We follow the seashore
The unknown country
Seashells and sand
That bed of driftwood remains
An abstraction of experience.

New worlds beckon
Over the horizon
Breathing
In
Out
As they transform new possibilities.

DriftWood20220002.jpg

And here you thought it'd be easy.

DriftWood20220004.jpg

The science of Chaos revealed
In the sinuous contour
An abstraction born of reason
Geometries and symbols
Telemetry
The holographic ping
Ringing in the whole.

I met a traveler from a distant land

DriftWood20220007.jpg

Nature, he told me, the ultimate artiste
The mad engineer
Of flow and perception
Behind the veil of illusion
She drapes over the sand
Where she carved her secret designs.

Our paths crossed once before
And our fingers reaching
Touched
When the sunlight filtered through the rain.

Ancient primordial beginnings
Gate of eternity
Let me pass through this mystery
This realm of wonder

I followed her footprints along the sand until I came upon a grave of obsidian totems. Their smooth surface did not reflect the light but absorbed it into their singular center. I've been here before, I thought to myself, why have I returned?

“This is it!” I heard her say. “Come to me through the wormhole!”

I searched for her in the sea foam. In the waves that crashed on the shore. What nature revealed in her ecstasy or the turmoil of her tantrums. I ran up and down the beach, looking for her face in the totems- in the whorls and eddies of history.

“Where are you?” I shouted.

Her echoes transformed into a totem melted on the sand.

“Is this you?” I said standing before the darkness.

Black raven wings spread to embrace me
Vortex of space time
Carved parallel dreams
The choices we made
Entangled in the glittering sand.
