A malfunctioning home system during the winter time would be dangerous around here. It would be especially difficult if it is being controlled by a rogue artificial intelligence. Thankfully, the AI had good intentions in this story. I like the attention to detail that makes it feel tangible.

It was a mistake to support the decision to eliminate manual locks in favor of infallible sensors and low-cost biometric readers.

It is a thoughtful story with a pleasant twist.
