As one of the participating cities in the World Cup, Vancouver will host a number of games, including the Canadian national team. This city has been soccer friendly for a long time, having developed healthy on-field rivalries with the sister cities of Portland and Seattle. It is now set to welcome the world, and the decorations are going up rapidly throughout the city.

These statues have been decked out with extra large jerseys from a few of the participating nations. It was too dark to do a proper photoshoot, so I'll have to revisit these cheerful fellows another time.
Pubs are getting ready to receive the fans who would love to enjoy a pint while cheering their teams. Thankfully, the schedule works in our favour, and we get to enjoy libations at saintly hours (starting at noon for those feeling a little sinful).
