Every January 15, Venezuela celebrates the day of the teacher. It is a holiday that fills me with pride because it recognizes my efforts as well as those of my colleagues who work professionally, since it is not an easy task. Thinking about the training we receive at the university clearly leads me to consider that the curriculum is very detached from reality, because it focuses on how to teach children basically.
However, it is not the only thing that the teacher must face in the exercise of his profession, he must face the reality of the student, his family environment, the interaction with it, if there is really the figure of the family, how to help those students who have lost their father, mother or even siblings.
The teacher must also take care of his dealings with the representative, the management staff, maintain a balance in the relationship with his co-workers that usually is not easy this interaction due to the different points of view. Also, you must be responsive in the administrative area, part of which includes: planning, review, analysis and evaluation.
It is all quite overwhelming; however, the teacher manages to meet each of the demands mentioned above, but have you thought about the emotional burden on the teacher? Within the classroom each child is different: there are restless children, collaborators, sweet, talkative, with low self-esteem, demanding constant attention so it is unimaginable all that the teacher must manage. It requires a person who is self-confident, prepared, hardworking, with enough time that most likely will never be recognized and despite everything teachers are there, at the foot of the cannon, much more Venezuelans, which unfortunately are very poorly paid. They must perform various jobs in order to maintain an acceptable lifestyle for him and his family; that is why with this publication I would like you to make a brief reflection and value the effort of the teacher from your position; either representative, representative, close to the educational process in general or colleague to also value and recognize the work of his colleague: if you see something you like in him, tell him; you can not imagine how valuable a few words can be.
