The Bible says in Isaiah 9: 2
The people who walked in darkness have seen great light; to those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, the light has shined upon them.
In the Western tradition, darkness is also associated with evil, evil entities (such as demons or Satan), hell or, especially in Egyptian mythology, the underworld. This concept can be considered to personify the character of darkness reproduced by actor Tim Curry from the 1985 Legend fantasy movie, where Darkness takes the form of a 15-foot tall Satan stereotype, ends with reddened skin , the long horns and the split hooks. Darkness was also an important part of Gnostic religious systems; it was generally associated with evil. According to the Gnostics, the world is the result of a war between darkness and light.
All children are afraid of the dark. According to experts, the fear of getting lost and the fear of being devoured are also two basic fears of children. We see it clearly reflected in most children's stories where the protagonists are lost and have to face beasts, witches and monsters that threaten to devour them to the minimum of change. But as well as the fear of being lost and the fear of being devoured, they usually disappear as soon as we leave childhood behind; the fear of darkness does not disappear altogether. In the darkness we feel disoriented and vulnerable; therefore, in general we prefer light to darkness.
"I am the light of the world" -said Jesus once- "he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12). From Genesis 3 onwards, the Bible's description of our world is that of a world that lives in the darkest night. But in the same biblical account we find God's promise that one day he will put an end to darkness. That in the middle of the most absolute darkness a ray of light will shine. That is why Matthew, referring to the birth of Jesus at the beginning of his gospel, wrote the following: "The people settled in darkness saw great light; and to those who were seated in the region of the shadow of death, light shined on them "(Matthew 4:16).
Isaiah 60: 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and darkness the nations; but the LORD shall arise over thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Even if the world is in darkness you shine because jehova is in you
