With plenty of theaters, museums, cinemas, clubs, etc., Hamburg is an incredibly popular place for numerous of tourists. As one of the biggest musical cities, Hamburg is a favored destination of millions of people from all over the world.
The Hanseatic city offers some really formidable musicals, such as the upcoming “Mary Poppins” in the Stage Theater at the Elbe; “Kinky Boots”, which is based on a true story, is shown in the Stage Operettenhaus; and the renowned “Lion King”, performed since 2001. It is known for its beautiful presentation of the wildlife with cultural elements from Africa and Asia.
What my cousin and I went to see was Disney’s Aladdin. We both were super excited for our first musical. I already heard from some of my friends about the show and all of them were really stoked. I absolutely love Aladdin as the story and its adorable characters reminds me of my childhood. I remember, when I was a child, I often dressed up as Jasmin for carnival - her outfit is just gorgeous. Besides that, I was super addicted to an Aladdin SEGA game we had back then and I played it for hours. The whole performance is loaded with awesome humor, the music is indescribable, and the stage design is really stunning.
It was very fascinating, how real this spectacle felt. I think even if I would have watched it over and over again, I would never get bored. It was an indescribable feeling to be thrown into that oriental world, as if you were in the actual places and situations with the character and I’m happy to say that I finally fulfilled one of my long-lasting childhood dreams! The overall picture of this musical was perfectly balanced and one more important thing is that the experience is thoroughly worth its price, so I’m sure everyone who intends to take a look at it will totally enjoy this production. For everyone who plans to book some tickets: Don’t waste too much time, if you want to get hold of some good seats. All in all I had a really great time there and I hope in the near future I will get the chance to check more fantastic musicals out!
