Colonies are mostly on islands where there are no terrestrial predators in Iceland, Norway, Greenland, Newfoundland and many North Atlantic islands, feeds on small fish, which it catches by diving underwater, It is 28 to 30 cm in length,Its wingspan is 47 to 63 cm, and on land about 20 cm in high.Atlantic puffins spend most of their lives at sea,but during spring and summer return to land to form breeding colonies.
Puffins lay one egg that is incubated in turn by each adult for about 39-43 days. The adults feed the chick fish for about 45 days.
