Most of us know about the social platform called TikTok, this platform allows its users to create short video clips, which can be recorded by their devices. Some of the most popular TikTok videos feature teens sharing their dreams, aspirations, and thoughts on life in a fun, creative way. We will explore people's dreams and reality using TikTok videos to understand its influence on people's lives. In today's society, many dream of getting rich and famous in order to live a life that they want to live through the eyes of others while other people want fame just for themselves. All these ambitions are seen through TikTok videos that inspire people with their own lifestyles no matter how common or successful they are.
TikTok is a social media app that was launched in the United States on September 26, 2017. It is an app that allows people to create and share short videos with others. It has around 400 million monthly active users, this is a big number. Life on TikTok is about pursuing your dreams, being happy, and living your life to the fullest. People are sharing their dreams on TikTok in the form of videos or GIFs. People are also posting about everyday moments and what they want their life to be like in the future when they are rich, famous, or have achieved something big in life. In December 2018, Tiktok was accused of making its users depressed because it gave them unrealistic ideas about reality.
The headscarf and the Burka, the covering of the face, have been a practice in Islam intended to shield a woman from unwarranted attention - a sign of modesty. The clothing is traditionally either black or white and without ornamentation. No jewelry is shown, and no make-up is worn, but some ultra-fashionable young lady reminds me of the girl students at my University who have turned the intent and purpose of clothing intended to hide a woman's sexuality on its head and created a look intended to arouse the interest of young men. These girls are performing a TikTok video on TikTok which is another social platform.
And as Muslims, some adhere to Islam carefully, while others flaunt it. I respect individuals who practice Islam correctly, but those who want to show off their ignorance of Islam in order to gain social media followers are completely dumb. And I know that some of our students on campus have the same mindset and try to deceive other students, which needs to change. Besides, some people, especially the younger generation are getting addicted to this platform.
The app is focused on short videos that are known as “TikToks” and often consist of short dance routines or pranks, and this type of content has become popular among younger generations. One could say that TikTok is just a social media platform; however, it can also be seen as an escape from reality and the modern world. People are uploading videos with the hope that they will get enough views on the app to make their dreams come true or at least make them feel good about themselves. Teenagers make Tik Tok videos on various topics, and sometimes they capture inappropriate scenarios that are hurtful to our society or culture. They can also go out of control and engage in violence at times. This trend is escalating dramatically in Bangladesh, which is quite concerning. We should all be mindful that what we do or will do must not harm other people's sentiments, and that we should not do anything that may offend another faith or culture, otherwise it will be a mass.
