Lately we could see the wave of violence in Russian schools. And in mass media it is associated with some information background.
First of all, this background says every time "this happens everywhere, there are similar cases in the United States" (russian style propaganda always likes to point to us faults), secondly, this is the general appeal "let's make schools safe by hiring more guardians".
But as to the first idea, it turns out that this does not happen everywhere, and until recently it happened almost exclusively in the USA (I use "almost " although I know only American problems when youth starts fire or fight) and usually the reason for that was named as a permit for weapons , historically set, when the police (sheriff) was a very weak defender of the western settlements.
The fact that recently Russia has managed to become famous for it, made me search for similarities. Why did Russia follow the USA, and recently? And I see this problem in military rhetoric. In the right of the strong, to which the Russian Federation had taken a fancy, with the annexation of the Crimea. Everyone knows that the main explanation of the occupation of the Crimea is "try to take it back." Children's minds are very impressionable, and it is likely that the interpretation of the right of the strong in them occurs like this.
And then there's "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoevsky and a change in the education system. In the current form of education, pupils should read this work, but should not discuss it. And this is another pitfall. I remember my thoughts at the time of reading this novel (school time), and my surprise that the difference between a man and a gray mass should rely on the possibility of killing. The very formulation of the question by Dostoevsky for me was wild and strange even in my young years.
But for the author it was an interesting step. I do not in any way call for the abolition of Dostoevsky in schools, not after all those russian "Tom&Jerry" being already forbidden and all 6+. But I draw attention to the fact that personality is formed in school time under the influence of fiction (I'm still sure of it), although now it seems that only knowledge and getting general information is important.
As for the second part of the information background ... Russia is already a country of guards. This is the most popular profession. This is a dumb and unnecessary profession, as it distracts the most efficient citizens in the physical sense off for sitting on a chair and demonstrating their little power.
Some channels discussed the appeared problem with shools and how it is done in other countries. It turned out that they have no guardians in ordinary schools. Children learn to be free personalities, not prisoners on the zone. Although I know that for Kyiv this is not always the case. But I would be very surprised if I found out that in my nearest school in Kaniv someone is sitting all day at the entrance. In my time there have always been gossip cleaners... and it was normal for our safety.
I still want to say that solving the problem is communicating with children, and this decision is actually talked about from time to time, but for some reason it does not become popular.
