About me

My name is Edidiong Akaninyene, I'm a Nigerian from Akwa-ibom state (Itu) local government. I'm 21 years . My hobbies are reading, eating, learning new things. I also love music ❤ . Was introduced to hive.blog by my brother ubongj@ubongj.

What i do

I make quality Ankara (African prints - fabrics with vibrant patterns) and leather bags. I started learning the craft after i graduated from secondary school around 2017.

I learnt in a popular african market in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. It's called BarBeach Market. Its named after a popular beach in Victoria Island , Lagos which unfortunately is no more because of the new City called Eko Atlantic in Lagos. BarBeach market is sort of a tourist attraction in Lekki. Its a hub of African craft. All sorts of sculpture, art paintings, leather craft and all other affiliated things can be found there.

Bag making the process is quite hard butthe outcome is always fascinating trust me. A lot of materials are put together to produce a bag. You need lens, velvet, gum, sew machine, thread and lots more. The industrial sewing machine is used to attain nice stitches for the bag.

Below are some bags i have made

I'm sure you agree with me that they are quite colourful. It takes considerable time and meticulousness to produce them. I can create an average of three bags in a day. The price of the bags range from $15 to $40 depending on the style of the bags.

I'm in love with my craft. It's been a blessing. I do international deliveries as well.

I think ill be sharing my bag designs on here and maybe also teaching you guys my making process as well.
