Loma del cimarrón de Santiago de Cuba, es un lugar obligado para cualquier visitante de esa bella y cálida tierra.
Hola amigos de Hive, les quiero contar sobre una experiencia que tuve el mes pasado junto a mi familia (esposo, hijo y mi mamá) realizamos un viaje al Santuario Nacional del Cobre, en Santiago de Cuba, es un lugar que ansiaba mucho conocer por su historia y la paz que me habían comentado reinaba en el lugar, es una pena enorme que se me estropearon todas esas fotos porque fue una muy bonita estancia, pero logre recuperar algunas foticos de la Loma de los Cimarrones y hacia ahí enfoco mis vivencias.
Estuvimos tres días en el Cobre hospedados en el hotelito que está junto al Santuario y cada amanecer cuando salíamos al corredor ante nuestra vista me delataba esa enigmática estatua entre las montañas.
Loma del Cimarrón in Santiago de Cuba is a must for any visitor to that beautiful and warm land.
Hello friends of Hive, I want to tell you about an experience that I had last month with my family (husband, son and my mother) we made a trip to the National Copper Sanctuary, in Santiago de Cuba, it is a place that I longed to visit for its history and the peace that they had told me reigned in the place, it is a great pity that all those photos were spoiled because it was a very nice stay, but I managed to recover some photos of the Loma de los Cimarrones and that is where I focus my experiences.
We stayed three days in El Cobre staying in the small hotel that is next to the Sanctuary and every dawn when we went out to the corridor before our eyes, that enigmatic statue among the mountains betrayed me.
Esta foto que puse no es de las mías la tomé de Google, pero la puse para que se dieran cuenta a que me refería, pues no me queda ninguna a esa distancia. Al segundo día de estar allí no pudimos aguantar más y nos dirigimos al pie de la loma, nos encontramos un vecino de la localidad y nos explicó de que se trataba.

Es un monumento hecho a los esclavos que se fugaban de los ingenios en épocas de la esclavitud en Cuba y se refugiaban en esas tupidas lomas y eran denominados Cimarrones.
Para llegar al monumento había que ascender una loma bordeada de una escalera que contaba con más de 300 peldaños, menos mi mamá, por la edad y sus achaques, nos dispusimos a subir esa escalinata, hicimos un poco de esfuerzo para llegar arriba, pero a medida que subíamos y subíamos más nos gustaba el camino por la preciosa vista que ofrecía.
It is a monument made to the slaves who escaped from the mills in times of slavery in Cuba and took refuge in those dense hills and were called Cimarrones.
To get to the monument we had to climb a hill bordered by a staircase that had more than 300 steps, except for my mother, because of her age and her ailments, we set out to climb that staircase, we made a little effort to get to the top, but As we went up and up, we liked the way more because of the beautiful view it offered.
Hasta que llegamos a la cima y fue un regalo inmenso para nuestra vista, primero que todo el monumento está hecho de hierro fundido y bronce es la figura de un hombre con la cabeza de un caballo, pienso que fue la manera que encontró el escultor de significar la libertad del hombre con el galopar de los corceles.
Until we reached the top and it was an immense gift for our eyes, first of all the monument is made of cast iron and bronze it is the figure of a man with the head of a horse, I think it was the way the sculptor of signify the freedom of man with the galloping of the steeds.
En la sima le tome esta preciosa foto a mi hijo que aunque fue un poco peligrosa pues subio al borde cercado, como suele ser la juventud de intrepita, pero alcanzó una vista fenomenal.
At the chasm I took this beautiful photo of my son, although it was a bit dangerous because he climbed the fenced edge, as intrepid youth usually do, but he achieved a phenomenal view.
Si sorprendente es la estatua en lo alto, lo es la vista hermosa de todo ese paisaje, pero lo más impresionante para mí fue una laguna verde azul que se ve desde lo alto en medio de tantas montañas, la cual asemeja un pedacito de mar en el monte (como decimos los cubanos), es algo tan bello que me alegro mucho de haber podido concervar esta foto, dentro de tantas perdidas, porque es algo verdaderamente contrastante.
If the statue on top is surprising, it is the beautiful view of all that landscape, but the most impressive thing for me was a blue green lagoon that can be seen from the top in the middle of so many mountains, which resembles a little piece of sea in el monte (as we Cubans say), is something so beautiful that I am very happy to have been able to keep this photo, among so many losses, because it is something truly contrasting.
El color de esta laguna se debe según nos explicaron los habitantes del lugar a los desechos minerales de las minas de cobre que existen en la zona, parece magia al observar ese lago tan bello, aunque nos explicaron que sus aguas son muy tóxicas, pero a la vista es espectacular.
A la derecha del monumento se puede observar todo el Santuario del Cobre, es una vista espectacular, de ello no conservo fotos desde lo alto solo una, pero de cerca.
The color of this lagoon is due to the mineral waste from the copper mines that exist in the area, according to what the locals explained to us, it seems like magic when observing that beautiful lake, although they explained to us that its waters are very toxic, but the view is spectacular.
To the right of the monument you can see the entire Sanctuary of El Cobre, it is a spectacular view, I do not keep photos of it from above, only one, but up close.
Realmente es un lugar muy sugerente, bello y reflexivo. Trasmite una paz infinita, se los recomiendo mucho. Quisiera poder volver pero con mejores condicones para porder compartir con ustedes lo bello de ese lugar , es una pena que la tecnica me haya jugado tan mala pasada.
It really is a very suggestive, beautiful and thoughtful place. It transmits an infinite peace, I highly recommend them. I would like to be able to return but with better conditions to be able to share with you the beauty of that place, it is a pity that the technique has played such a trick on me.
