For many years, during my time in the ashram in Germany, I ate only twice a day, lunch at 11 a.m. and dinner at 6 p.m., so breakfast is not really necessary, but at 11 a.m. I was really hungry (which is good for digestion).
I just recently realized that what we did there is called intermittent fasting, we had a 16 hours break between dinner and lunch, which is also supposed to be very good for not gaining weight.
Maybe, whenever you feel like snacking in the future, have some hot ginger water instead.
Ginger is hot, helps digestion, but is not pitta aggravating, which in your case is important, when it comes to spices.
My 89 year old aunt has been putting slices of fresh ginger on her bread with marmelade every morning for years now, and she lives on and on. She says it helps her digestion.
