I mostly rested today and did a bit of socializing with friends. I did a short walk and a brief trip down to the store on my e-bike. I still enjoy picking up some groceries on my e-bike when I need a few items. It is easier to get through the self check out if you're not purchasing much.
The solar panels are still not doing anything besides looking nice on the rooftop. I was considering just turning the switch to the on position since there has been a lot of nice sunlight recently.
The powers that be seem to be arguing back and forth about the benefits of solar power. A certain argument seems to imply that solar power producers are driving the costs of power up, "for the rest of us." I would argue that the opposite is the case.
If you factor in the true costs to the environment of a coal or natural gas power plant, solar power comes out way ahead, imho. Acid rain, mercury in the water, carbon dioxide release, etc.
We are experiencing a five-sigma event in the sea ice loss in Antartica. We are way away from the average ice loss for the season. The outcome of what will happen from this is going to be interesting, to say the least.
These types of events are costing society a lot. We are experiencing hurracains where they have never been before, such as in Acapulco.
Anyhow, once they turn the system on, all of my power and transportation needs are locked in. Inflation and supply issues will probably push the cost of electricity and gas up in the future, but the solar panels should insulate me from that with any luck. I just wish that society would prioritize the switch to clean energy a bit faster.
Abstract photography of the day:
A little better look at the object:
Cameras are still not able to fully capture an image at certain lighting and magnification. I was looking at a bright pattern of lights and tried to capture it. Although the images were not true to what I was seeing, I still think that they were interesting in of themselves.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher..
