My friend and I played a rather difficult eighteen-hole disc golf course today. I ended up winning with at +19 to +21. It was a rather close round, and my friend was complaining about how he is often ahead most of the round, but I always win at the end. I don't think this "always" happens, but it does happen sometimes, lol.

I always want to have that epic round where everything goes right, but that seldom happens. I think setting your expectations too high is not all that helpful, so next time, I'm just going to have fun on the course and not worry about trying to have a personal best round or anything.

I missed a really easy putt on a par four where I was making some really good throws. I was all happy about making par on a rather difficult hole and carefully lining up my throw. Just as I was releasing my throw, someone yelled very angrily in the background. It distrubed me enough to make me miss my putt. I easily made a second practice throw that went into the basket. My friend offered to count it as in for the putt. It was tempting, but I really need to be able to deal with a bit of angry meth head sounding noise in the background, lol.

Usually, the course doesn't have people wandering around yelling on it, but today it did.

A couple of holes later on the infamous hole six, I lost a disc. My friend was spotting for me, but he lost sight of the disc, and it turned too much and probably got stuck in a tree.

It is around a four hundred foot throw with a bunch of trees in the way and almost no landing zone. You're throwing down over the trees, and if the disc does not travel far enough, it gets stuck inside any number of different trees.

It is a very specific line and throw, and I never want to use any of my precious distance drivers on it. I ended up using a very beat in Beast disc today. When we could not find the disc, I threw a more stable Wave disc and got it just about where I wanted it to go. I would hate to lose a Wave disc, but my chance of playing the hole well improves with it.

What it looked like on the disc golf course today:
