I did some walking today and the usual activities. My friends wanted me to go disc golfing, but I declined. I'm still not ready yet, but my arm is improving.
I dropped out of another disc golf tournament because I did not think I would be able to prepare for it with the way my arm was feeling. It is a bit disappointing feeling because at my age you never know if you are going to be able to get back to the same level again. There are a few activities that I have stopped doing because they are harder for me. I do feel like I need to keep doing as much as I can, though.
I went grocery shopping today, and someone was standing out in the rain flying a sign. Apparently, his tent had blown away in the in the wind, and the city won't let him camp down by the river anymore. I gave him some money and he was very happy that at least he had enough for some coffee.
I guess I have nothing to complain about. I have had a very fortunate life.
Tonight's dinner:
I have had the opportunity to save enough to live comfortably now. I wish everyone had the same opportunities.
Unfortunately, housing is very expensive around here. Taxes on houses have gone up a lot, and that pushes up the cost of housing for everyone. I can afford it, but I feel for people who are struggling to even find a free place to put their tent.
I don't think there are any easy answers to social problems. Some kind of easy work in a digital economy could be helpful, but it is hard to say if the government here will be open to any new ideas or technologies.
