It was awfully smoky when I started out this morning. The drive was nice and several people were taking photos of some mist rising off a river with the orange sun in the background. I almost stopped, it was looking so beautiful with the reflections and all.
But I was on a mission to play week seven of the eight-week disc golf league. I noticed during my warm-up that I was not getting the same amount of power in my throws as last week. It does vary a bit but I was getting a reasonable distance.
I managed to get a couple of birdies on some holes that I often get par on and that helped my score out. I ended up with a +2 or an 823-rated round. (Round ratings are based on weather conditions and what a 1000-rated player might be able to do.)
It feels like I am relaxing more in tournament play and doing better. I still missed a couple of putts that I feel like I should have been able to get but that is not unusual.
We played the red/green course layout today. It is supposed to be easier than the red layout but often I don't do as well on it. (The shorter tee locations turn an easy par four into a more difficult par three.) Today I did a bit better than I usually do on it.
A scary sunrise today:
A bit dystopian looking, but the colors were cool, lol.
Some birds by the new disc golf course I played a few days ago:
