I won the practice round of disc golf today with a score of +3 to +6 and +12. We played on the red/green course layout. It is not my favorite because I don't do as well on it as my rating would indicate that I should. I am getting better each time I play it and hopefully I will do fine in Sunday's tournament when we play it.
There is nothing wrong with the course, it just adds a bunch of more difficult par threes by removing some scoring opportunities from some of the easy par fours. Usually, I can at least par from the red tee pad but sometimes the green tee pad can result in a bogey. This can happen because the basket is just close enough to be tempting to try for a birdie but there are a lot of things that can go wrong if you miss the line just a bit.
Today I avoided most of the difficulties by playing conservatively but I still managed to take a few bogeys on easy holes that I usually don't have any trouble with.
It was so dry out on the disc golf course:
We are in a record-setting dry spell. At least it makes it easier to disc golf.
