I went over to my favorite disc golf course and some friends of mine were just about to tee off so I joined them in a game of doubles. I was playing by myself as "Cali." This is where you get to take a second throw without penalty one time per hole. I ended up with a loss with a +3 score.
In some ways being able to take a second throw makes me less focused on just making a good first throw. Additionally, I tend to take more risks and waste my second throw at times when I should save it. I almost lost a disc when we could not find it right away during the round but I found it after I came back later.
I was struggling with the wind and not throwing particularly well. Even with a second throw, my score was not up to my usual playing. The other teams were at a -5 and a -3. Playing doubles is a different game and takes a bit of getting used to.
I had not played doubles for a while and it was a lot of fun to see my friends again and play a game with them.
