I played my usual Colorado nine hole disc golf course this morning. My score was not too good at a +4 but it sure was fun to be out on the course. It is snowing right now as I am writing this so it might not get a chance to play disc golf for awhile.
Warming up on the disc golf course with no snow as yet:
It was just starting to look like snow and very cold so I did not take many practice putts.
Since the ditch was still frozen over I decided to take out my fourteen speed orange "bad boy" disc on hole one. This is probably be least consistent disc in bag and my son often makes strange faces when I pull it out in competition. For some reason I like throwing it because on perfect throw it really travels.
I threw it to the left of basket and it turned up on anhyzer and really floated right. (It has hit a few trees so it can be a bit understable. )
It traveled way over the ditch and faded hard striking a icy snow bank and skipping back to the left. Coming down off the snow bank it skipped off the middle of the frozen ditch and landed over fifty feet pin deep.
The basket is at 368 feet and slightly downhill. My throw probably went over four hundred feet with all the ground action. Somewhat of an accomplishment but really not a good throw for scoring well. I never throw a fast disc that hard when the ditch has water in it but it has been fun to try to throw it harder on these cold winter days.
Here where it ended up:
Out of bounds this this time. Of course this is a "solid surface" so maybe, technically one could take relief on the other side of the ditch away from the basket without a penalty?
