It was a really nice day for disc golf today. I headed out for a practice round. Things were going pretty well... until hole seven.
There was a slight headwind breeze. I thought my newly purchased Wave disc that I got in Colorado was up for the task. I let it ripe off hole seven's tee pad and it came out level. Level is not good when you want hyzer. Level is particularly not good when you throw towards the river into a headwind.
Luckily a tree caught the disc before it sailed into the river. It was just out of reach but I knew it could get it down with a branch. I figured it was a pretty easy recovery. Little did I realize that the river was "over the roadway" high. It usually isn't that high this time of year but what do I know about such things.
Knocking the disc out of the tree it fell down right into the floodwaters. I saw it land in the water and hesitated a bit because I did not want to get wet. I plunged into the river moments too slow and searched in vain for the disc as it disappeared into the muddy water.
We're talking two or three feet from the shore here but the water got deep fast because of the flooding.
Hopefully I will get the disc back if the water drops back down to normal. I hesitate to say what "normal" is any more though.

I almost kept it but put it back where I found it.
It was just a gorgeous day out on the course today:
On the way back I saw someone walking around with no shirt on.
I was soaked from half swimming in the river and glad that I had decided to drive the SUV today.
My battery is all charged up on the e-bike and if things are still looking good weather wise, I might go back to riding my e-bike to the course.
