The atmospheric river was predicted to move in at noon today so I rushed my son out for a round of disc golf. We just made it back before his class. The deluge started around noon as predicted. Hopefully it won't rain cats and dogs, frogs, fishes, etc. etc.... lol.
It was a bit windy out on the course. Naturally we struggled a bit with the conditions and I struggled a bit more than my son who won the round at +3 to my +4.
I lost yesterday to a couple of younger playes. I invited myself to join them for a round when I saw one of them waiting to start playing. When his friend arrived I recognized him as someone I had played with before.
I enjoy playing with other people when I get the chance.
On hole three the first person on the tee shanked a drive into the first available tree. (His friend was on the phone kind of oblivious to what had happened.) After a comment he went over and picked up the disc and re-tee'd the drive. He played out the hole taking four additional throws and commented, "Well that's a bogey."
I thought to myself, "Dude you took a six throws with the penalty after the re-throw off the tee." Since I had invited myself into the game I didn't say anything and his friend was so busy on the phone I don't think he noticed.
I was kind of expecting to come in last unless they gave my a handicap or something so it really didn't bother me much since I was just playing for fun. The round was close enough so his friend would have won had the round been scored correctly. Of course I would have still been in last place. It kind of makes me laugh a bit at the outcome, lol.
It's all good fun. The older I get the less seriously I try to take things.
