My son and I played disc golf down at our favorite course today. The road is still closed and I expect it will be some time before it opens up for traffic. Right now you can sneak past the cones and walk over to the course.
It was really nice to be out on the course. It had been awhile since we last played. It was pretty cold and the ground was very wet with some light drizzle at times. I found it hard to get warmed up at first.
My son started out well with a birdie on the first hole we played. We each threw two initial drives and picked the best one. It seems like kind of a thing around here when you are warming up on a casual round to do that. My first throw went off into the trees but my son's throw parked the basket.
That ended up being the only birdie that he had. I won the round by a point with a +3 score. Neither of us were really happy with the scores but it was great to be out there and kind of expected after not playing for so long.
My PDGA rating bumped up since the fall disc golf league so I was pretty happy about that. My son and I are signed up for the winter league next year and I'm excited to be out there soon.
A difficult spot that my disc landed in:
I almost saved par from the above spot and was happy to split the gap and nearly get down by the basket. The tee pad was washed out from the last river flooding so it is a lot harder to play this hole now.

Really yummy lunch food at the restaurant:
