We played lots of disc golf today. In the morning we both had a really good round of eighteen at our favorite course by the river. My son won by one point.
On the second round a friend joined us and we were a bit tired. The scores were all a lot higher and my son came in last. I won that round.
In the evening my son and I played a short nine basket round. I was just using my new drivers that I purchase to replaced the lost Sword disc and my usual putter. I lost by a stroke and we both were not really happy with the score.
I am still not used to the new discs but I'm getting better with them. I think I am gripping the understable one too hard and it pretzels the plastic. It is tough to control the angles when the disc is distorted that badly. I think the plastic is just a bit too gummy for my liking and I wish I had purchased the disc in I-Blend instead of the G-Blend.
Another giant stump that was on the recent hiking trip:
I modified this picture in GIMP to give a black and white film and color splash effect.
I kind of view it as a little tiny doorway that the little folks go through to enter a different realm. It some how reminds me of the song:
... and when we are in the place just right,
we find ourselves in the valley of love and delight.
(Slightly paraphrased.)
