As predicted after the recent rains the river was running very high. I rode my e-bike out to the disc golf course and they had the road blocked off because of flooding.
I rode around the signs being a bit of an anarchist and not wanting to ride all the way around. I figured it probably wasn't that high.
The water looked low enough so I just motored through the flood water slowly as to not get much in the hub. I was starting to worry a bit about the wisdom of my choice about half way through the water. Lucky for me it did not get all that high.
I could imagine the motor cutting out and me peddling only to get my feet in the water and shorting out against the bike frame. I figured I might win a Darwin Award for drowning in the flood water after electrocuting myself within sight of the, "road closed" sign, lol. :D
Actually I think the motor might run underwater if the wires are insulated properly since it is brushless. I'm not sure about the controller though but it is mounted a bit higher. Maybe someone knows if it will or not? I'm not sure it is something I would like to test.
Anyhow, disc golf was kind of short today because the cold wind kicked up just after I got to the course and started blowing hard. My friend was out playing there and we played a few holes together. Most of the holes by the river we skipped because of the wind and high water.
You can't really see it too well but basket six sits right in the middle of the water hazard:

Naturally on the way back the water was lower on the road and by the time I got home it was less windy. The next few days look really nice for playing so I'm planning to get back out there.
