This morning I helped the local disc golf club put in some new tee pads on the eighteen basket course that I like to play. There were a bunch of people helping out and the job went very smoothly. They rented a turf cutter and dug out areas to set the new artificial turf tee pads in. They had purchased a bunch of this material used at a good price from someplace that was replacing the material on a soccer field.

This new material is very sturdy and would be hard to remove. The other nearby course has had many of the tee pads removed or cut up. Some have thought that the homeless people are using the material at their campsites.

We were done putting in the new tee pads before lunch and spent the rest of the day playing on the new pads. I was having some issues getting the feel of throwing off of them at first. I think they are going to be really nice once I get more used to them. The biggest issue before was trying to throw off of muddy ground just after a rain and the new tee pads should be much better for this.

Here's another picture of the new disc that I found on the pro course yesterday:

I gave it a test throw today and it is stable with a nice fade. I really like the feel of the Star plastic. It seems like the older discs get more grippy and easier to hold on to as they break in.

Altogether it was a great day and we had nice weather for the activities with only a little bit of rain in the morning.
