There are some factors that determine how happy I am at any moment. When I have the means to live comfortably and also to contribute to the lives of people looking up to me. As a result of this, I can conclude that making money makes me happy.

The question now is if there is an amount of money that I can make and consider it enough. Human needs are insatiable. When you achieve a goal that was hitherto a dream, there is this possibility of setting a higher one. It continues that way without an end. When I take this into consideration, I then realized that if I tie my happiness absolutely with wealth, I might never be happy the way I am supposed to.

However little the win is, if someone has the habit of commending himself for a job well done, he is likely to be more happy than the other person that keeps himself in the race without patting himself for a job well done. I learned this recently but it was better late than never.

Some years ago, I hardly saw myself happy about anything. The reason is that I was obsessed with pursuing targets upon targets that I hardly paused to identify the winnings and commend myself for the journey so far.

I wish to have enough money to take care of myself. Of course, this brings happiness. I wish to take good care of my wife and son. This too is accompanied with a lot of happiness. My mum, siblings and other family members are there. Whenever I touch the lives of these people, I am always happy. As much as making money can help me achieve these goals, the fact that I can't make enough money to attend to what I wish for 100% makes me take it easy on myself.

I now realized that if I don't create happiness for myself, I may die a sad person. So, I decided to change what makes me happy. Instead of tying my happiness to the results of my efforts, I now tie my happiness to the efforts itself.

What I am saying is that before now, if I engage myself in a venture and after doing my best to get what I wanted but failed, I become unhappy. But presently, the fact that I did my best irrespective of the results makes me happy.

This has helped me a lot in not seeing myself as a failure. In those days that I judged myself with the results of my efforts, I looked down on myself as a failure especially when I saw someone that didn't put in as much effort as I did but got a better result. However, my maximum efforts in getting the job done is now responsible for my happiness.

This has made me to be competing with my previous person which is a very healthy competition. The target of all my efforts is to make money in order to attend to issues mentioned earlier. When the money is coming, I see it as the fruit of my efforts and I am happy. If the money isn't forthcoming, I see it as my efforts not yielding fruits yet. I am still happy as long as I didn't leave any stone unturned. If money comes my way, I make use of it to settle the bills and if it's not forthcoming, I keep on pushing with the belief that time is just the factor that makes the difference.

I can't be happy when I'm lazy. This has spurred me to be dedicated to whatever thing that I am doing. My happiness is dependent on my efforts.

The second thing that makes me happy is being healthy and seeing my loved ones healthy. As I put in my energy in any task that could change my life for better, I remind myself always that health is wealth. I don't joke with my health. Once I am healthy to face my tasks maximally, I am a very happy human.

I believe that this happiness will last. Each time I wake up to face my dream optimally, my happiness knows no bounds.
