One night, I noticed a single lamp glowing amidst the darkness. Among so many other lamps lying dormant and unlit, this one shining lamp managed to capture my attention and illuminate its surroundings

I then asked myself: could human life be like that?

If so, perhaps we do not need to be the greatest to be of value; rather, we must have the courage to be a light in the midst of the darkness. My mind seemed to urge me toward a philosophical reflection, drawing me into a dimension of profound contemplation.

I’ve come to realize that throughout the journey of life, we encounter many different people. Some shine because of their wealth, others are known for their positions of power, and some are respected for the goodness of their hearts—yet, not everything that appears bright truly brings warmth to others.

Some people may be so preoccupied with chasing recognition that they forget the true value of life isn't measured by how high we stand, but by how many people we help while we are there. Does that make sense to you?

Perhaps this offers an answer—an ancient piece of wisdom I’ve heard time and again:

"Remember, light never asks whom it is illuminating; it continues to shine, even when there is no one there to offer applause."

Reflecting on this, I’ve come to understand that I shouldn't feel discouraged if the small acts of kindness I’ve performed go unacknowledged. I shouldn't stop doing good just because the world often pays more attention to those who speak eloquently from podiums, on podcasts, or in other prominent spaces—while those who work with sincerity often go unnoticed.

This perspective brings me closer to a sense of inner peace. Is it merely a fleeting sensation? I honestly don’t know.

Perhaps from here, I can begin to apply the heroic phrase to my life:

"Be like a burning lamp; there's no need to dim others' lights to make yourself shine."

Yes, this may just be a fleeting thought that popped into my head, but I need to be honest, in the midst of a world as chaotic as today, we sometimes need a little motivation to balance our lives, perhaps the yin-yang concept in Korean, or whatever it is, or more precisely, to prevent the inner suffering of "myseri."

I'd like to write about this; is there anyone here who would like to share it?

Please leave me a comment, so I can find the answer.

Thanks a lot.
