A little while back, I was searching for inspiration for new endeavours, having been disheartened by a lack of response to some of my efforts at community building in our local area.
We all get times like that.
On a search for enlightenmentmt hrough YouTube, I found this little gem from a group called 'Freeing Systems' who's maxim is 'Struggle less, live more'
The first video in this post was most uplifting and encouraging, presented in music and poetry. It is a message of creation and joy. It wasn't what I was expecting, but the uplifting message for me was, 'keep building', people will follow and I might be able to encourage others to build their own ideas.
I'd been focusing the effort, not the freedom its outcomes would bring. Lately though, the first question I ask myself when starting any project - 'how will this project give myself or others more freedom'?
Our efforts at homesteading, going off-grid or just being a little more independent shouldn't tie us down nor tire us out, unless it's a good kind of tired like the tired we get from a good day's work. We are seeking freedom from a system that is grinding us down and removing our freedoms and rights but the effort (or even struggle) can be so tiring.
Why can't we always build a little lightness into our efforts? By focusing on the freedom, rather than the effort, we can.
In current society, we are conditioned to see things as opposites. 'Work' and 'Freedom' are said to be polar opposites, where the first leads to the latter, not the other way around. If we can look at the freedom an effort will bring, the work can seem to be much lighter and may even be removed entirely as it is remained as something to enjoy.
Keep up your efforts, whatever you are doing, just look at the freedom they will bring.
The second video is a far more detailed explanation of what they do. Interesting, though wordy, it's worth a look.
As you can tell from the videos, they have a YouTube channel. I'm glad I found them.
