Days ago I shared the first part of my 18th birthday celebration where in I talked about how lost I feel now as a 22-year old compared to when I was eighteen where I felt like my life was all planned out. If you want to check out the first part of my "Trip Down Memory Lane: My 18th Birthday" blog post, you may click here.
As I read through the various engagements of different individuals who came across my post, one comment struck me,
@ajorundon commented, "Life is all about figuring life out." and after reading that comment, I came into a deep realization that indeed everyday is an opportunity for us to figure out which way to go. There may be instances where we feel so lost trying to find our way back but that's the premise of life, we are constantly trying to figure out our next move, our next big decision, and most especially the true meaning of our existence.
In this blog post, I would want to share to all of you some of the photos of what went on during my 18th soiree. This is the second part of my trip down memory lane and I hope you will all enjoy this trip with me.
On August 27, 2017, which was days before my actual birthday, I had one of the most memorable nights of my life because that night was celebrated just for me together with my family and closest friends. I could hardly put into words how I am extremely grateful for the people who made the event possible.
Just to shed some light, the event was not solely financed by my parents. Many of my godparents, relatives, and other family friends sponsored the occasion because they would want to see me glow with happiness on my special day and I am truly grateful for their thoughtfulness and that act of kindness will be forever be engraved in my heart. Looking back at all the love I received on that day, I am slowly realizing the true meaning of my existence is to make other people happy.
I initially disagreed to have a debut celebration such as this because I wanted to celebrate in a simpler way together with friends. I wanted to have a stay-cation with them but I am glad I followed what my mother wanted because it was indeed such a splendid night.
In this part of my blog post, I would want to thank all of you for taking this trip down memory lane with me. I felt really nostalgic while going through some photos my 18th birthday celebration. I haven't really expressed my thoughts and feelings regarding that night but thankfully I found this platform where I constantly feel that my thoughts are valid and I found people who shared the best insights to my stories. You are all a part of my journey. I know that there is a reason why our paths crossed.
