Tent Pegging is a game of royals. I am very fond of this game and travel a lot to attend Tent Pegging events. Mostly these events are held in rural areas of Pakistan and farmers and landlords participate in it. Every team wears traditional dress of this game but with different color combination. They also decorate their horses with different ornaments. Overall a colorful and very happening event. I was lucky to know that a Tent Pegging event was going to be held near Islamabad Area.
I visited Tent Pegging arena in evening and also got some even light. The riders were very skillful and showed their talent to hundreds of people. The rider gallops the horse from a distance and tries to pick peg with lance. After victory they show peg to audience as their prized victory. Hundreds of riders from all over Pakistan participated in it and winner got some expensive prizes.
Traditional music like Drums and flute were also played during event. On every successful peg these musicians celebrate the moment. This event lasted all day and many food stall were also their to entertain the audience.
