During travel to khunjrab I stayed for few days in Hunza. One of the most beautiful place having river, mountains, clouds and even you can see glaciers. There are a lot of places to visit in Hunza having some historic importance like Altit and Baltit fort. Altit fort has very important location and you can see this fort from every where. This fort lies on a hill near Hunza river. Looks very beautiful surrounded with tall cloud covered mountains.
My hotel was located in main Hunza bazar on a high peak. Even from my hotel terrace the view of Hunza valley was terrific. You can enjoy Hunza river, mountains and lush green environment. Even I could see glacier on my back side of hotel. People get water from glaciers to drink.
The people of Hunza are very friendly and welcome you with open heart. In evening they arranged some gathering where they showcased local dances with songs. In every house you can see different fruit trees like peach and apple. These fruits are free for tourists.
If you travel around you can find beautiful places. Hunza River follows you every where. I liked Gulmit a lot very beautiful place having a lot of wildlife. If you are lucky you can see Markhor, Ibex and even snow leopard in this area. You also see Markhor or Yak skull placed on different locations, they might be used as some good luck sign. Hunza is truly a heaven on earth and when you see these beautiful scenes your only wish is that time may stop.
