Pakistan Day parade is incomplete without the Performance of Sherdil squadron of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aerobatic display team. The team consists of nine Karakorum-8 (K-8) a single-engine advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft. They are designed and manufactured jointly by China and Pakistan. K-8 jet trainers are painted in white, red and blue colors.
Sherdil aerobatic display team started performance with nine jets but during the show they changed the formations and showed their skills and control. In airshow they showed some thrilling stunts in six jet formation flying together. They best part of their performance was when sherdil aircraft left smoke trail of different colors. The hallmark of sherdil performance is their outclass skill, precision and smooth handling of aircraft.
They ended their performance with the breath-taking bomb-burst in which all planes diversed. Thousands of people were gathered to witness this spectacular airshow of sherdil aerobatic display team.
After the sherdil acrobatic team performance JF-17 Thunder solo performance took place. It is all painted in Pakistani flag color and this jet also participates in airshows held all over the world. JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft was developed jointly by Pakistan and China. JF-17 Thunder has successfully replaced F-16 Fighting Falcon developed by United States Air Force at half the cost. The JF-17 has become the backbone of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
