This morning I woke up to an email saying my account was approved and I was ready to post on Steemit. This was the most exciting news I had all day. That is, until an hour after I made my introduction post I had earned a significantly higher amount of Steem than most other users - definitely more than I was expecting for my first post.
It was nothing astronomical by any means, but it definitely made me feel great about this community.
Now I'll explain how I did it.
First, I started by uploading a selfie with the word "Steemit", my username, and today's date. This ensured other users that I was a real person and not some fake profile.
Next, I listed my accomplishments and credentials. I kept it short, simple and to the point.
After that, I listed my interests. Again, keeping it short, simple and to the point.
Finally, I talked about what I planned to contribute to the community, and what I hoped to get back from the community.
After I started getting comments, I engaged with the people commenting and followed many of them.
I just wanted to share with you how simple it is to post quality content, with a few simple rules to keep in mind:
Be creative - maybe you have some interests or talents that you don't normally think about. Now might be a great time to start.
Sometimes, less is more.
Engage with the community!
I hope you all enjoyed this post.
