Steemit Welcome page is where eventually everyone will land once their account is approved. Since this is the first page with loads of information, it must be maintained upto date. There shouldn't be any stale information or dead links.
Few things have changed in the Steem and steemit ecosystem recently, so I wanted to point out some changes required for the welcome page.

The image used in the welcome page contains outdated steemit logo. This is the only image in the welcome page but the logo used in this banner image is old. Even the tag line is old. Banner image must be removed completely and replace it with new image.
The is a link '^' after each section, in first instance many people will not understand what is this meant for. There is no descriptive text even on 'hover' of the link, screen reader also doesn't read out anything meaningful. This link fails the accessibility badly. There are so many '^' in the page, literally after each section which is annoying.
Replace all the '^' with a single image/icon which would convey 'Back to top' link, this can be with or without text, and sticky to the bottom right corner and doesn't scroll along with the page scroll. It should appear only after the page has been scrolled. I believe this is quiet commonly seen in many websites these days.
Provide 'title' for the links so that it helps the screen reader and good for resolving accessibility concerns.
The 'Other Resources' section contains Steem Whitepaper which is now outdated, the main website steem.io provides Steem Bluepaper in PDF format. I think the link for the Steem whitepaper must be replaced with latest Steem Bluepaper.
In 'Create your "introduceyourself" post' section, the link provided for newbies to check the other "introduceyourself" posts is not working. The link in the below line is not working as expected.

There is a typo error in the URL. When we click on the link, we can see '30' is added in the URL after 'trending'. The URL must be updated properly after eliminating typo.
