Painting my ATTIC FLOOR - ENG/ESP

Hello to all my Hive friends, I hope you are doing well.
I finally finished painting the attic I did in my house. I had some months pending to do it and I had not had the chance. But this weekend I dedicated myself to it and finished it.

Al fin terminé de pintar el ático que hice en mi casa. Tenía algunos meses pendiente de hacerlo y no había tenido chance. Pero este fin de semana me dediqué y lo terminé.

First I bought 2 gallons of liquid plastic, I preferred to use that product that they sell in any hardware store, it is a little more expensive than the marine varnish but it protects the wood much more, much more. So I preferred to spend a little more but leave the work better and take care of the wood as much as possible.

Primero me compré 2 galones de plástico líquido, preferí echarle ese producto que venden en cualquier ferretería, es un poco más caro que el barniz marino pero protege más, mucho más la madera. Así que preferí gastar un poquito más pero dejar mejor el trabajo y cuidar la madera lo más posible.

So with my liquid plastic, a couple of brushes, thinner, gloves and glasses I went home. The plan was to paint from 2 pm until I finished painting everything. It is about 17m2 in total so it was not so much to paint, or well yes, because it was upstairs and downstairs so it was about 34m2 in total of paint. The hardest part was that I didn't have a ladder, so I had to put a chair and stretch to reach it.

Así que con mi plástico líquido, un par de brochas, diluyente, guantes y lentes me fui a casa. El plan era pintar desde las 2 pm hasta terminar de pintar todo. Son en total como17m2 por lo que tampoco era tanto lo que tenía que pintar, o bueno sí, porque era por arriba y por abajo por lo que eran como 34m2 en total de pintura. Lo más difícil era que no tenía escalera, por lo que debía poner una silla y estirarme para llegar.

I started at 2pm on Friday, and finished at 9pm. So in 7 hours I was able to finish it. I wanted to do it this way because we had to go sleep at an uncle's house for a couple of nights because the smell is too strong, it gave headaches and you could hardly breathe.

Empecé a las 2pm del viernes, y terminé a las 9pm. Así que en 7 horas pude terminarlo. Quise hacerlo así porque tuvimos que irnos a dormir casa de un tío por un par de noches ya que el olor es demasiado fuerte, que daban dolores de cabeza y casi no se podía respirar.

First hand one week ago/primera mano hace una semana

First, a week ago I had already applied a coat of liquid plastic to let it dry sufficiently and the following week I finished the second coat.
The good thing about this product is that it is more resistant than varnish and protects much more than the common varnish, it levels itself, and I realized that the wood does not absorb it as much as the varnish. It also leaves more shine and that was essential for me since the floor was sanded but it had some parts that were rustic, and when I passed a broom over it, some hair or lint that the broom had would get trapped there.

Primero ya hace 1 semana atrás había pasado una mano de de plástico líquido para dejar secar suficiente y a la siguiente semana que él fue esta, terminé la segunda mano.
Lo bueno de este producto es que es más resistente que el barniz y protege mucho más que el barniz común, se nivela por sí solo, y me di cuenta que la madera no lo absorbe tanto como el barniz. Deja más brillo también y eso era primordial para mí ya que como estaba lijado el piso pero tenía unas partes que estaban rústicas, ahí al pasar escoba se me quedaría atrapado algún cabello o pelusa que tuviese la escoba.

To apply it I recommend using a roller with the right mop so that it does not suck so much product and gives you more. The brush is 100% necessary because with it we are going to paint corners, and also finished off by pouring more product in places that felt rustic. If you want to paint continuously, you will have to wait approximately 4 hours to apply the second coat. Anyway, each product and brand has its own application specification.

Para aplicarlo les recomiendo usar un rodillo con la mopa adecuada para que no chupe tanto producto y te rinda más. La brocha es 100% necesaria ya que con ella vamos a pintar esquinas, y además remataba echándole más producto en los sitios que sentía rústico. Si quieres pintar continuamente, deberás esperar aproximadamente 4 horas para echarla la segunda mano. De todas maneras cada producto y marca tienen su especificación de aplicación.

MY EXPERIENCE
I had applied marine varnish to the staircase and the structure, I was missing the pine floor, and the difference between one and the other is very noticeable. With the varnish, it was protected but more dull and rustic, with the liquid plastic it was smooth and extra shiny.
With respect to the protection for you, ideally you should use latex gloves or gloves that do not transfer the varnish to your hands. Mask of those so that you do not smell that so strong since it is harmful to your health, and at the end of painting drink a glass of milk to detoxify you.
If you live in a closed apartment or house, it is better to stay at least the first night at a relative's or acquaintance's house.
Otherwise you can just enjoy your work of art!

MI EXPERIENCIA
Yo le había colocado barniz marino a la escalera y a la estructura, me faltaba el piso de pino, y la diferencia entre uno y otro es muy notable. Con el barniz, me quedó protegido pero más opaco y rústico, con el plástico líquido quedó suave y extra brillante.
Con respecto a la protección para ti, ideal que uses guantes, de látex o que no traspase el barniz a tus manos. Máscara de esas para que no huelas eso tan fuerte ya que es dañino para la salud, y al final de pintar te tomar un vaso de leche para desintoxicarte.
Si vives en un departamento o casa cerrada, mejor quédate por lo mínimo la primera noche en casa de algún familiar o conocido.
