ROTATE THE LIGHT
I had already shown some of my photon rotors a few weeks ago. Today there is more. I attach several torches with different acrylic blades or other light shapers to a plant pole and then attach them to a motor. I then record the light traces created by the rotation with the camera. Depending on the angles of the pole in relation to the camera, a wide variety of shapes are created.
Ich hatte vor einigen Wochen schon einige meiner Photonenrotoren gezeigt. Heute gibt es Nachschub. Ich befestige mehrere Taschenlampen mit verschiedenen Acryl Blades oder auch anderen Lichtformern an einer Pflanzstange und diese dann an einem Motor. Die Lichtspuren, die durch die Drehung entstehen nehme ich dann mit der Kamera auf. Je nach den Winkeln des Stabes in Bezug auf die Kamera entstehen verschiedenste Formen.

I usually use the torches in strobe mode. I prefer to use the Ruys Lighpainters torches for this because the frequency of the strobe can be changed. Before the torch, I used to create the effect of different strobe frequencies by changing the speed of the motor.
Meist benutze ich die Taschenlampen im Strobe Modus. Am liebsten nehme ich die Ruys Lighpainters Taschenlampen daf眉r weil die Frequenz des Strobe sich 盲ndern l盲sst. Bevor es die Taschenlampe gab habe ich den Effekt von verschiedenen Strobe Frequenzen durch die 脛nderung der Drehzahl des Motors umgesetzt.

For this reason, I have taken the individual light tracks one after the other at the different speeds in some of the pictures. That is why the exposure time is very long in some pictures. Other pictures, however, I took with one rotation, just as the light traces can then be seen.
Aus diesem Grund habe ich bei einigen Bildern die einzelnen Lichtspuren nacheinander mit den unterschiedlichen Drehzahlen aufgenommen. Deshalb ist die Belichtungszeit bei einigen Bildern sehr lang. Andere Bilder habe ich aber mit einer Umdrehung aufgenommen, so wie die Lichtspuren dann auch zu sehen sind.

For some pictures I used a small RGB lamp, like the Concentrate C5 LED Unit, to paint colour changes, colour fading or patterns of different colours into the picture.
F眉r manche Bilder habe ich eine kleine RGB Lampe, wie die Concentrate C5 LED Unit, benutzt um Farbwechsel, Farbfading oder Pattern aus verschiedenen Farben ins Bild zu malen.
I control the motor, a windscreen wiper motor from a VW Golf, with an analogue speed controller. As a result, it is sometimes quite difficult to set the speed exactly again. Maybe I will soon convert it to a digital control.
In order for the whole thing to run cleanly and evenly, it is important that the weight on the planting rod is evenly distributed. I try to attach the torches on both sides so that the rod is in balance. If that doesn't work, I add extra weight to the rod.
Den Motor, ein Scheibenwischermotor von einem VW Golf, regele ich mit einem analogen Drehzahlregler. Dadurch ist es zuweilen recht schwierig genau die Drehzahl wieder einzustellen. Vielleicht baue ich das demn盲chst auf eine digitale Steuerung um.
Damit das Ganze sauber und gleichm盲脽ig l盲uft ist es wichtig, dass das Gewicht am Pflanzstab gleichm盲脽ig verteilt ist. Ich versuche die Taschenlampen an beiden Seiten so anzubringen, dass der Stab in Waage ist. Wenn das nicht funktioniert bringe ich zus盲tzliche Gewichte am Stab an.
I usually attach torches to the rotating device for several different pictures. So I don't need to convert it, but only switch on the corresponding torches. So with the one set-up I have the basis for many different combinations of light trails. So that the tripod and the motor are not visible later in the picture, I cover it with black molleton.
Meist befestige ich Taschenlampen f眉r mehrere verscheidene Bilder an der Drehvorrichtung. Somit brauche ich das nicht umzubauen sondern nur die entsprechenden Taschenlampen einzuschalten. Somit habe ich mit dem einen Aufbau die Grundlage f眉r viele verschiedenen Kombinationen von Lichtspuren. Damit das Stativ und der Motor sp盲ter im Bild nicht sichtbar ist decke ich das mit schwarzem Molton ab.
