ROTATION OF LIGHT FLOWERS

Marla wanted to throw the flowers in the bin because they were faded. I managed to save some of them to take some more camera rotation pictures. Upcycling, so to speak.

Upcycling, soszusagen.

For the first experiment I used a Convoy S2+ UV torch and a High CRI Light Scanner. I first illuminated the flowers with the UV torch while rotating the camera around the optical axis in steps of 45掳. For the second rotation I illuminated the flowers with the High CRI scanner.

Here I lit the same scene with the orange Convoy S2+ and again turned the camera with 45掳 steps.

For this picture I changed the setup and the focal length. I did the illumination again with the self-made scanner.

For this picture I had changed the set-up and the distance and direction of the light source a little again. I wanted to show off the small thistles a little more.

BEHIND THE SCENE

img_20220103_181007_v1.jpg

Normally I don't show pictures of the setup and the tools used. Not because I make a secret of it but because I am so focused on the light painting images I want to make that I don't think about photographing the scene and the tools.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The artist illuminates the scene with diverse light sources and paints light traces into the picture with various light tools. In addition, we use various other techniques, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All our pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, our pictures are not processed on the computer.
