First of all, I would like to thank our long-suffering model Claudia. We took this picture in November at 8掳C. The original idea was, in keeping with the silent film by Fritz Lang, a result in black and white. You can see it below. However, when I saw the finished picture in colour on the camera display, I liked the colourful version almost better. What do you say?

Was sagt ihr?

First, a few days before, I had built the android out of a mannequin, a helmet, motorbike protectors and some other stuff, and attached some EL-Wire to android and the bench on which the model was to lie. I first painted the rings into the picture, then lit the android into the picture. In the next step, I lit up our model, Erik and Marla painted the tube over our model with an EL-Wire. In the last step, I blew the room full with the fog machine and switched on the blue laser that had been placed behind the android before.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The artist illuminates the scene with diverse light sources and paints light traces into the picture with various light tools. In addition, we use various other techniques, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All our pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, our pictures are not processed on the computer.
