On Splinterlands there are several game modes to choose from or to play simultaneously.
The most played game modes are the modes featured in Ranked Play:
I play in almost all game modes, but my favorite ones are Modern Format and Frontier Format because they are formats in which only human players can play and bots are strictly prohibited.
In my opinion, Frontier Mode is the best and most recent addition because:
I started playing in the Frontier Format from the first day of its release (July 29, 2025) and had a lot of fun playing it.
I also really like the Frontier Format because it reminds me of my early days on Splinterlands when there were only Alpha and Beta cards and when the game rewards consisted only of cards.
When I enjoy playing like in the Frontier Format, I also like to buy assets to progress through the game faster.
In the case of the Frontier Format, the most important elements are the Foundation Cards.
In fact, it's no coincidence that my game results improved when I found the legendary card Mystic Scaleweaver in a daily reward.
This season, I am in the Silver I league with a rating = 1780, but my main goal is to be able to play consistently in the Gold leagues from the beginning to the end of each season.
To achieve my gaming goal, today I made my first purchase of Foundation cards.
Today I bought two copies of Marlai Singariel.
Marlai Singariel is the archon I use most in the Frontier format, especially in combination with the cards Mystic Scaleweaver and Saltwater Mage.
I purchased two copies of Marlai Singariel to combine with the three copies I have in my collection with the goal of upgrading Marlai Singariel from level 1 to level 2.
I spent 1277.92 DEC = $0.89 to purchase two copies of Marlai Singariel.

After the purchase, I went to the ITEM->CARDS section of Splinterlands and upgraded Marlai Singariel: level 1 -> level 2.
With Marlai Singariel at level 2, I will be able to use common cards (water and neutral) up to level 3 and rare and epic cards up to level 2, thereby increasing my strength in battle.
In the next images, you can see the water element and neutral element cards that I can use with Marlai Singariel.
But now it's time to move from theory to practice to see if Marlai Singariel's upgrade will allow me to improve my win rate and reach Gold III league where the rewards are better!
While writing this post, I played a few battles in Frontier Format.
In the first battle with level 2 Marlai Singariel, I was able to use:
I won the battle even though the two extra life points of the level 3 Spitting Camel were not decisive in winning the battle because I would have won even with a level 1 Spitting Camel.
In the second battle with level 2 Marlai Singariel, I was able to use
In the third battle, I couldn't use level 2 Marlai Singariel, so I used a level 1 archon and lost the battle.
In the fourth battle with level 2 Marlai Singariel, I was able to use:
I won the battle
In the fifth battle with level 2 Marlai Singariel, I was able to use
I won the battle
In the sixth battle with level 2 Marlai Singariel, I was able to use level 2 Colossus Raider instead of level 1.
I won the battle
But above all, I entered the Gold III league
Upgrading Marlai Singariel from level 1 to level 2 helped me get into Gold III league because in at least two battles, using level two and three cards instead of the same cards but at level 1 was crucial to winning the battles.
In 5 battles played with Marlai Singariel of level 2, I obtained 5 victories.
Playing in the Gold III league instead of the Silver I league is important because the rewards become chests instead of cards!
Today I received my first Foundation set chest, and I hope to open many more in the future so I can speed up the upgrade of my cards!

Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere le carte dell'elemento acqua e dell'elemento neutrale che posso utilizzare con Marlai Singariel.
Ma adesso è il momento di passare dalla teoria alla pratica per verificare se l'upgrade di Marlai Singariel mi permetterà di migliorare il mio win rate e di raggiungere la lega Gold III dove le ricompense sono migliori!
Contestualmente alla scrittura di questo post giocherò alcune battaglie nel Frontier Format.
Nella prima battaglia con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho potuto utilizzare:
Ho vinto la battaglia anche se i due punti vita in più di Spitting Camel di livello 3 non sono stati determinanti nel vincere la battaglia perchè avrei vinto anche con Spitting Camel di livello 1.
Nella seconda battaglia con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho potuto utilizzare
Nella terza battaglia non ho potuto utilizzare Marlai Singariel di livello 2, ho utilizzato un archon di livello 1 e ho perso la battaglia.
Nella quarta battaglia con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho potuto utilizzare
Ho vinto la battaglia
Nella quinta battaglia con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho potuto utilizzare
Ho vinto la battaglia
Nella sesta battaglia con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho potuto utilizzare Colossus Raider di livello 2 invece del livello 1.
Ho vinto la battaglia
Ma soprattutto sono entrato nella lega Gold III
L'upgrade di Marlai Singariel dal livello 1 al livello 2 mi ha aiutato ad entrare nella lega Gold III perchè in almeno due battaglie l'aver usato carte di livello due e tre invece delle stesse carte di livello 1 è stato fondamentale per vincere le battaglia quando.Completely agree.
Su 5 battaglie giocate con Marlai Singariel di livello 2 ho ottenuto 5 vittorie.
Giocare nella lega Gold III invece che giocare nella lega Silver I è importante perchè le ricompense diventano forzieri invece di carte!
Oggi ho ricevuto il mio primo forziere del set Foundation e spero di aprirne molti altri in futuro in modo da accellerare l'upgrade delle mie carte!
