Alas de ónix, de Rebecca Yarros
Hola a todos en esta hermosa comunidad, hoy llegamos a una nueva incorporación de mi Biblioteca en Miniatura. Poco a poco esta pequeña colección sigue creciendo y con ella también se van acumulando las historias que, por una razón u otra, han conseguido quedarse conmigo después de haberlas leído.
Esta vez la protagonista de esta nueva miniatura es Alas de ónix, de Rebecca Yarros, el tercer libro de la saga Empíreo y, hasta el momento, el último de los libros principales publicados de esta historia.
Después de haber acompañado a Violet y a los demás personajes durante Alas de sangre y Alas de hierro, esta tercera entrega nos lleva nuevamente a ese mundo de dragones, jinetes, guerra y magia que ya se había convertido en una parte importante de la saga. Sin embargo, esta vez la sensación es diferente, porque los personajes ya no son los mismos que conocimos al principio y todo aquello que han vivido comienza a tener un peso mucho mayor en sus decisiones.
Uno de los aspectos que más destaca en Alas de ónix es precisamente la evolución de los personajes. Después de todo lo ocurrido en los libros anteriores, ya no se trata solamente de aprender a sobrevivir o de demostrar que son capaces de hacerlo. Ahora tienen que tomar decisiones que pueden afectar no solo sus propias vidas, sino también las de las personas que los rodean.
Para mí, uno de los temas más interesantes de esta historia es la importancia de elegir incluso cuando ninguna de las opciones parece sencilla. La autora muestra que crecer también significa aprender a asumir las consecuencias de nuestras decisiones y entender que, en determinadas situaciones, no siempre existe una respuesta completamente correcta.
También vuelve a tener mucho peso el tema de la confianza. Cuando existen secretos, intereses diferentes y peligros que pueden venir incluso de lugares inesperados, confiar en alguien puede convertirse en un verdadero acto de valentía. Y al mismo tiempo, la historia nos recuerda que la confianza no es algo que simplemente se da una vez, sino algo que puede construirse, perderse y volver a ponerse a prueba.
Otro elemento que me gustó de esta tercera parte es cómo el mundo de Empíreo continúa ampliándose. La historia ya no se siente limitada únicamente a lo que ocurre dentro de Basgiath, sino que poco a poco podemos comprender que existe un mundo mucho más grande detrás de todo lo que habíamos conocido en los primeros libros.
Y en medio de todo esto siguen estando los dragones, que para mí son una de las partes más especiales de esta saga. No solamente porque hacen que este universo sea diferente, sino porque los vínculos que existen entre ellos y sus jinetes aportan una dimensión especial a la historia. Son parte del mundo, pero también de las relaciones, de las decisiones y de muchos de los momentos que hacen que esta saga sea tan particular.
Sin revelar ningún acontecimiento importante, diría que Alas de ónix transmite una sensación mucho más intensa de peligro y de cambio. Los personajes tienen que enfrentarse a situaciones que los obligan a dejar atrás algunas certezas y a descubrir que el mundo que creían conocer puede ser mucho más complejo de lo que imaginaban.
También considero que esta tercera entrega pone bastante énfasis en los vínculos entre los personajes. El amor, la amistad, la lealtad y la familia adquieren un significado diferente cuando las circunstancias hacen que cada decisión pueda tener consecuencias importantes. Y creo que esa es una de las cosas que hace que la historia no se quede solamente en la fantasía y la acción, sino que también nos permita reflexionar sobre lo que estamos dispuestos a hacer por las personas que queremos.
Entre las frases que decidí conservar en esta cuarta incorporación de mi colección se encuentran algunas que representan parte de esas ideas y emociones que me dejó la lectura. Al igual que con las miniaturas anteriores, para mí son pequeños fragmentos que ayudan a conservar algo de la historia y de ese momento en el que la descubrí.
Y ahora mi pequeña estantería ya tiene tres libros de la saga Empíreo. Me hace mucha ilusión ver cómo una historia que comenzó siendo una lectura digital poco a poco ha ido ocupando un espacio físico dentro de mi colección. Cada miniatura representa un libro, pero también una parte de mi experiencia como lectora.
Con Alas de ónix queda añadida la cuarta miniatura a mi Biblioteca en Miniatura y, por ahora, también cierro esta pequeña colección dedicada a los tres libros principales de la saga Empíreo que he leído hasta el momento.
Pero no quiero decir que sea el final definitivo. Tengo muchas ganas de seguir leyendo más de este mundo de dragones y de descubrir qué nuevas historias tiene Rebecca Yarros para nosotros. Así que dejaré un pequeño espacio en mi estantería para cuando llegue una nueva historia que merezca formar parte de ella.

Onyx Storm, by Rebecca Yarros
Hello everyone in this beautiful community, today we come to a new addition to my Miniature Library. Little by little this small collection continues to grow and with it the stories that, for one reason or another, have managed to stay with me after reading them also continue to accumulate. This time the protagonist of this new miniature is Onyx Storm, by Rebecca Yarros, the third book in the Empyrean series and, so far, the latest of the main books published in this story.
After having accompanied Violet and the other characters through Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, this third installment takes us once again into that world of dragons, riders, war and magic that had already become an important part of the saga. However, this time the feeling is different, because the characters are no longer the same ones we met at the beginning and everything they have experienced begins to carry much more weight in their decisions. One of the aspects that stands out most in Onyx Storm is precisely the evolution of the characters. After everything that happened in the previous books, it is no longer simply about learning to survive or proving that they are capable of doing so. Now they have to make decisions that can affect not only their own lives, but also those of the people around them. For me, one of the most interesting themes in this story is the importance of choosing even when none of the options seems simple. The author shows that growing up also means learning to accept the consequences of our decisions and understanding that, in certain situations, there is not always a completely right answer. The theme of trust also carries a lot of weight once again. When there are secrets, different interests and dangers that can even come from unexpected places, trusting someone can become a true act of courage. And at the same time, the story reminds us that trust is not something that is simply given once, but something that can be built, lost and tested again. Another element that I liked about this third part is how the Empyrean world continues to expand. The story no longer feels limited only to what happens inside Basgiath, but little by little we can understand that there is a much larger world behind everything we had known in the first books. And in the middle of all this, the dragons continue to be there, which for me are one of the most special parts of this saga. Not only because they make this universe different, but because the bonds that exist between them and their riders add a special dimension to the story. They are part of the world, but also of the relationships, the decisions and many of the moments that make this saga so unique. Without revealing any important events, I would say that Onyx Storm conveys a much more intense sense of danger and change. The characters have to face situations that force them to leave some certainties behind and discover that the world they thought they knew can be much more complex than they imagined. I also consider that this third installment places quite a lot of emphasis on the bonds between the characters. Love, friendship, loyalty and family take on a different meaning when circumstances make every decision capable of having important consequences. And I think that is one of the things that makes the story not remain only within fantasy and action, but also allows us to reflect on what we are willing to do for the people we love. Among the phrases that I decided to preserve in this fourth addition to my collection are some that represent part of those ideas and emotions that the reading left me with. Just like with the previous miniatures, for me they are small fragments that help preserve something from the story and from that moment when I discovered it.
And now my little shelf already has three books from the Empyrean series. It makes me very happy to see how a story that began as a digital reading has slowly taken up a physical space within my collection. Each miniature represents a book, but also a part of my experience as a reader.
With Onyx Storm, the fourth miniature is added to my Miniature Library and, for now, I am also closing this small collection dedicated to the three main books of the Empyrean series that I have read so far. But I do not want to say that it is the definitive end. I am very excited to continue reading more from this world of dragons and to discover what new stories Rebecca Yarros has for us. So I will leave a small space on my shelf for when a new story arrives that deserves to become part of it. Now I would like to know your opinion. Have you read Onyx Storm?
